Abstract

Gaya kepimpinan Leader-Member Exchange (LMX) merujuk kepada satu kualiti hubungan antara pemimpin dan pengikutnya. Kajian lepas menunjukkan bahawa gaya kepimpinan LMX merupakan salah satu peramal kepada tingkah laku inovatif dalam kalangan pekerja. Namun, kajian yang melihat sejauhmana persepsi pekerja terhadap gaya kepimpinan LMX ketuanya mempengaruhi tingkah laku inovatif pekerja masih lagi kurang dijalankan terutama dalam kalangan pekerja teknikal di Malaysia. Oleh itu, kajian ini bertujuan untuk mengenalpasti hubungan secara langsung di antara gaya kepimpinan LMX dengan tingkah laku kerja inovatif dalam sektor pembuatan. Kajian ini merupakan kajian kuantitatif dengan menggunakan borang soal-selidik sebagai alat pengumpulan data. Populasi kajian adalah terdiri daripada pekerja-pekerja bidang teknikal berjawatan Jurutera, Penolong Jurutera dan Juruteknik di syarikat-syarikat sektor pembuatan di kawasan perindustrian Johor Bahru, Johor. Seramai 154 responden telah terlibat dalam kajian ini. Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan statistik deskriptif dan Structural Equation Modeling. Analisis deskriptif dijalankan dengan menggunakan perisian SPSS dan analisis SEM menggunakan SmartPLS versi 3. Dapatan kajian ini menunjukkan bahawa gaya kepimpinan LMX mempengaruhi tingkah laku kerja inovatif dalam kalangan responden. Kajian ini memberi nilai tambah kepada kajian-kajian lepas tentang tingkah laku inovatif pekerja melalui intervensi gaya kepimpinan LMX yang menekankan hubungan berkualiti antara ketua dan pengikutnya
