Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  • If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.

Author Guidelines

  1. GENERAL

    Manuscripts submitted to Jurnal Kemanusiaan must be original work that have not been published or under consideration for publication elsewhere. The journal welcomes submissions written in either English or Bahasa Melayu. Manuscripts, including references should be typed 1 1/2 spacing on A4 size paper using font size 12 pt and should not be more than 8 pages in length inclusive of tables, figures and illustrations. All submissions will be peer reviewed.

    Author(s) are strongly encouraged to submit manuscripts electronically to Jurnal Kemanusiaan after putting your article into layout using the latest template provided which can be found in SUBMISSION PACKAGE.

    We also encourage all author(s) to suggest three(3) potential reviewers for their manuscripts but must not from the same organization/ institution. While it cannot be guaranteed that author recommendations will be followed, they will be taken into consideration. Jurnal Kemanusiaan ensures that the reviewers act independently and have no conflict of interest in the manuscripts. The editorial board reserves the right to reject any manuscripts that are unsuitable for the Journal because of any reason(s). Authors whose native language is not English are strongly advised to have their manuscripts checked by an English-speaking colleague or professional prior to submission.

  1. TITLE

    Manuscripts should be headed by a concise title using font size of at least 24 pt. Please include the full names(s) of the author(s) using font size of 18 pt, complete mailing address, telephone and fax numbers as well as e-mail address (in separate page). In case of multiple authorship, please indicate the main author to whom all correspondence concerning the paper should be directed.

  2. ABSTRACT

    All manuscripts should be accompanied by an abstract of between 100 to 150 words. The abstract should not only indicate the subject and scope of the paper but also summarize the author’s conclusion along with not more than five (5) key words separated by hyphens that could be useful for information-retrieval purposes.

  3. STYLE

    As fas as possible, manuscripts should consist of the following sections: Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results and Discussion and Conclusion. Each section and sub-section should be numbered using the Arabic numerals. Please use SI units for all scientific and laboratory data.

    4.1 Tables
    All Tables should be kept simple and clear, and should be referred to in the text. They should be numbered, titled and typed using double spacing on separate pages in the order of which they are referred to in the text.

    4.2 Illustrations
    Illustration including diagrams and graphs should be sharp, noise free and of good contrast. All photographs submitted must be of good quality and printed on glossy paper.

    4.3 Mathematical Notations and Equations
    All equations must be clearly typed, tripled-spaced and should be identified or numbered accordingly.

  4. ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS (COMPULSORY)

    A brief acknowledgment of not more than 50 words should be included at the end of the manuscripts, before the list of references. Acknowledgement could be made to funding body, institution/universities/organization or individual/person.

    Example:

    1. Acknowledgement to funding body (Grant number) : This work was supported by the Trust [grant numbers xxxx, yyyy]; the Natural Environment Research Council [grant number zzzz]; and the Economic and Social Research Council [grant number aaaa].

    2. Acknowledgement to institution/universities/organization: We would like to thank XYZ University for their helpful feedback and support.

    3. Acknowledgement to individual/person: We would like to express our sincere gratitude to our supervisor, Professor John Doe, for his valuable guidance and support throughout the research process. His expertise and insights were invaluable in shaping our research and helping us to overcome challenges.

  5. REFERENCES

    References should be appear on a separate References section at the end of the manuscript, type 1 1/2-spaced. All references should follow APA referencing style. Individual references inside this section should be either numbered [1] – [2] – [3], using square bare. The test of each reference must be a formal bibliographic citation in a commonly used format, without free-from commenting. References should be numbered consecutively in text. For example

    Book:
    [1] Bell, C. and Harris D., (1999). Evaluating and Assessing for Learning. London: Kogan Page

    Article in a periodical:
    [2] Kotha, S. And Nair, A., (1995). Strategy and Environment as Determinants of Performance: Evidence for the Japanese Machine Tool Industry. Strategic Management Journal. 16(4): 497-518
