Kekongruenan Personaliti-Persekitaran Kursus dan Hubungannya Dengan Pencapaian Akademik di Kalangan Pelajar

Abstract

ABSTRACT

This research was done among first year students from Bachelor Degree of Human Resource Development, Faculty of Management and Human Resource Development, University Technology of Malaysia, Skudai session 2006/2007. A number of 90 students  was choose randomly as research sample. A part of objective of this research is to identify pattern of personality-course environment and the level of congruent among students and to identify the relationship between academic performance and the degree of personality-course environment of the students.  Research tool Self-Directed Search (SDS)-Form Easy (translated version by Amla, 1984) was used to identify the pattern of personality-course environment. The degree of personality-course environment congruent was set using Iachan Congruent Index. Descriptive method of analysis used in this research is frequency, percentage and mean score. Pearson correlation was used in inferential analysis to answer research hypothesis. Research finding showed that three student‘s code is SEA and have the degree of congruent which are suitable with the three Holland code. Furthermore, there is no significant relationship between academic performance and with the degree of personality-course environment congruent among students in this study. Overall, although there is no relationship between academic performance and the degree of congruent, this research was contribute to identify the pattern of personality-course environment and the degree of congruent among students in this study.


ABSTRAK
Kajian ini telah dilaksanakan ke atas pelajar tahun satu kursus Sarjana Muda Sains (Pembangunan Sumber Manusia), Fakulti Pengurusan dan Pembangunan Sumber Manusia, semester dua, sesi 2006/2007, UTM Skudai. Seramai 90 orang pelajar telah dipilih secara rawak sebagai sampel kajian. Antara objektif kajian ini termasuk mengenalpasti pola personaliti-persekitaran kursus dan tahap darjah kongruen di kalangan pelajar dan mengenalpasti hubungan antara pencapaian akademik dengan darjah kongruen personalitipersekitaran kursus. Alat kajian Self-Directed Search (SDS)-Form Easy (Versi terjemahan Amla, 1984) telah digunakan bagi mengenalpasti pola personaliti-persekitaran pelajar. Tahap darjah kongruen personaliti-persekitaran kursus pula telah ditentukan dengan menggunakan Indeks Kongruen Iachan. Kaedah analisis deskriptif yang digunakan ialah kekerapan, peratusan dan min skor. Korelasi Pearson ‘r’ digunakan dalam analisis inferensi bagi menjawab hipotesis kajian. Dapatan kajian menunjukkan bahawa kod tiga huruf pelajar ialah SEA dan mempunyai tahap darjah kongruen iaitu padanan yang baik dengan kod tiga huruf Holland.  Selain itu, tidak terdapat hubungan signifikan antara pencapaian akademik dengan darjah kongruen personaliti-persekitaran kursus di kalangan pelajar kajian. Secara keseluruhannya, walaupun tidak terdapat hubungan antara pencapaian akademik dengan darjah kongruen personaliti-persekitaran kursus pelajar, namun dapatan kajian ini telah membantu dalam mengenalpasti pola personaliti-persekitaran kursus dan tahap darjah kongruen di kalangan pelajar kajian.
