Abstract
ABSTRACT
This paper attempts to identify the difference of requirement in recruitment process between sharia banks and conventional banks in Indonesia taking Medan as a case study. Data was collected from the questionnaire given to the banks’ key informants. This paper is analyzed using Item Analysis. The results show that there was no significant requirement difference between sharia and conventional banks in recruitment process, based on the 4 factors namely education attainment, competence and technical skills, job experience and personal characteristics of employees candidate. This is probably due to the background of sharia banks’ growth process. Considering that sharia banks will need many new employees in the future, Indonesia thefore requires more new institutions of education and training especially in sharia bankinG
ABSTRAK
Kajian ini dijalankan untuk mengenal pasti perbezaan antara keperluan pengambilan tenaga kerja baru oleh bank syariah dan bank konvensional di Indonesia dengan kajian kes di Medan. Data diperolehi daripada soal selidik yang diedarkan kepada pengurus sumber manusia dan pegawai kanan bank. Kajian ini dibuat dengan menggunakan analisis butir. Hasil kajian menunjukkan tidak terdapat perbezaan signifikan daripada keperluan dalam pengambilan tenaga kerja baru oleh bank syariah dan bank konvensional, berdasarkan empat faktor iaitu pencapaian pendidikan, kemampuan dan kemahiran teknik, pengalaman bekerja dan karakteristik personal calon tenaga kerja. Ketidakwujudan perbezaan disebabkan oleh latar belakang proses pengembangan bank syariah di Indonesia. Sebahagian besar bank syariah adalah UUS yang dibuka oleh bank konvensional dengan memindahkan tenaga kerja lama ke bank syariah yang baru dan BPRS yang keperluan tenaga kerjanya sangat kecil. Berdepan dengan keperluan tenaga kerja bank syariah yang semakin ramai pada masa hadapan, maka lebih banyak institusi baru untuk mendidik dan melatih calon tenaga kerja bank syariah diperlukan.
